Felipe Zavala was born in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Felipe grew up in both Mexico and West Texas, and is bicultural and bilingual. Felipe obtained his undergraduate degree from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas in 1996 and his law degree from Texas Tech School of Law in 1999. Prior to moving with his family back to the Texas Panhandle, he practiced law in El Paso, Texas.
Felipe’s practice includes employment, business and commercial litigation, and divorce and family law litigation. However, the focus of his practice has been corporate and business law, immigration with an emphasis on business immigration matters and trademark law.
Felipe advises individuals and businesses as to business entity formation, management and operations, and financing matters. He has represented clients with sophisticated interests throughout Mexico and the United States. Other examples of Felipe's transactional practice include State and Federal licensing issues, construction law, oil and gas transactions, real property purchases and disputes, as well as general civil disputes in these areas including DTPA claims.
Felipe also drafts wills and advises clients in estate planning issues.
Felipe is married to Stacy Zavala and they have two children T.J. and Lucia Zavala.
Stacy Zavala grew up in McKinney, Texas, graduating from McKinney High School in 1992. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Trinity University in 1996. She attended Texas Tech University School of Law where she received academic awards in Civil Procedure, Dispute Resolution, Trial Advocacy and Employment Law. She graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, magna cum laude, in 1999 and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas the same year.
Stacy practiced with defense litigation firms in El Paso, Texas from 1999 until 2008. Her practice areas included mass tort, products liability, transportation, employment and commercial litigation.
In 2008, she moved with her family to the Texas Panhandle. From 2010 until early 2015, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the Child Support Division, establishing and enforcing child support orders in 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle.
As an attorney with the Zavala Law Firm, she practices in the areas of family, civil, commercial, employment and criminal law.
Stacy is married to Felipe Zavala and enjoys spending time with their two children, T.J. and Lucia, traveling and eating really good Mexican food.
